Doctoral Program (Notes for International Applicants)
Notification:
- For the entrance examination for international students, there will be no online system, but only a face-to-face system (examination to be taken in person at the college).
- Either of the following tests is required to check your Japanese Language proficiency.

Applicant Eligibility
- Have the status of residence to "Student" before the enrollment, except for those who are already "Permanent Resident".
- Corresponding to any item listed on page12 of the Application Requirements.
- A guarantor resides and supports oneself in Japan, and could be responsible for the applicant's identity and expenses liabilities.
- Either of the Japanese Language Test (EJU / JLPT) is taken. *as noted above
Necessary materials
The name and date of birth on the application must be the same as that on the passport. If they are different, the application will not be accepted.
- Application Form (prescribed form)
Attach your ID photo on the form - Application Ticket (prescribed form / attach an ID photo)
- Official Transcript of master course
*accompanied by a Japanese translation
*no need if completed our MA program - Certificate of Graduation
If submitting the certificate is not possible, a photocopy of the original will do.
*accompanied by a Japanese translation - Submission (thesis etc.)
*Please look at the Application Requirements - ID Photo (4cm×3cm) taken within 3 months
*front view-center full face in frame, no hat, neutral-colored background (no people or objects in photo)
*attach one to the Application Form and one to the Admission Ticket - Certificate of Remittance (Entrance Examination Fee)
*please look at page 12 of the Application Requirements
*attach the certificate and write down the applicant’s name
*please ensure that the Certificate of Remittance has financial institution stamp - Stamped Addressed Envelope to send the Admission Ticket
*the address the applicant is living in Japan from January, 2026 to Feburary, 2026 or an address in Japan that the letters will be delivered.
*attach stamps for the express mail fee(410yen) - Either of the following as Japanese Examination
Copy of the Examination Voucher of EJU (Japanese) taken after April, 2024
Original Score Report of Japanese-Language Proficiency Test Certificate of Result and Scores of JLPT
*N1 level
*regardless of the date the exam was taken and the original must be submitted - Personal Identification (prescribed form)
Guarantor must be residing in Japan and could be responsible for the applicant’s identity and expenses liabilities.
If the guarantor is a foreigner living in Japan, please attach the copy of both sides of the Residence Card. - Copy of Residence Card (both sides)
- Copy of the Entry Visa if you have one at the time of application
- Passport Copy of the personal identification page
- International Students’ Personal Data Sheet (prescribed format)
※In principle, applicants are required to have passed JLPT N1, by the first test which is held in 2025. If you are unable to submit the "Japanese-Language Proficiency Test Certificate of Result and Scores" at the time of application due to reasons such as taking the 2nd test of the relevant year, please be sure to consult with the Admissions Office by e-mail in advance. Notes for Application and Examination
- Applicants who apply by mail from abroad must send their applications by registered mail within the period from Tuesday, January 13, 2026 to Tuesday, January 20, 2026 (postmarked date).Since it may take some time for the mail to arrive, take a photograph (or scan) of the completed application form beforehand, and send it to the Admissions Office as an e-mail attachment by Tuesday, January 20, 2026. - Money transfer JPY 50,000 into the designated account and please burden the transfer fee at your expense in addition to this amount.
- Be sure to bring the Residence Card to the entrance examination.
- International Applicants are also required to take Foreign Language Examination in all majors. Please look at the Application Requirements for details.
Notes for Enrollment
Enrollment will be canceled if unable to come to school within a week the classes have started.
